West Coast Photographic Camping Tour
4th to 10 March & 13 to 20 March 2010

Workshop Content:
Day1: Arrive during the day, informal meeting on stoep/front porch at 17:00 followed by dinner and an introductory program after dinner in the hall.
Day 2: Introductory photo presentations with departure afterwards for Atlantic coast via Hondeklip Bay (boulders, huge breakers, shipwreck) and arrival at the campsite at Boulder Bay.
Days 3, 4 & 5: Photographing white dune fields, rocks of all sorts, beaches, sea shells, seals, etc.
Day 6: Early morning photography at coast, depart after late breakfast for hotel. Participants may choose to go directly to hotel or via Hondeklip Bay (huge breakers, shipwreck).
Day 7: All day for viewing your new work. There will also be time to do photography in the vicinity of the hotel or visit Nourivier.
Day 8: Depart after breakfast.
WHAT TO BRING:
Your usual photographic equipment, and extra camera body if possible, your camera manual, lots of extra batteries and a sturdy tripod (we recommend the Manfrotto tripod #190 and Manfrotto head #322)
Digital Photography: your own computer (with photo enhancement software and the software CD), bulk storage medium or USB flash drive and a polarizing filter.
Clothes:Suitable for both warm and cold (possibly wet) weather.

Photographic Tours
For more than a decade the Kamieskroon Hotel (Namaqualand Photography Workshops) has held wilderness workshops at the Atlantic coast of Namaqualand and in the Richtersveld (the mountain desert in the northwest corner of South Africa). The workshops have always included instructional lectures and photo evaluations at the hotel as well as comfortable wilderness camping at a specific site from which we made short daily photo excursions and/or hikes in small groups.
Now we are also offering extended periods at two base camps. There will be short informative presentations about the photo opportunities of both sites at the hotel before departure, but no lectures, providing for extended shooting time.
Well qualified photographic resource persons with knowledge of the areas will accompany the group which is limited to 15 - 16 participants.
