Kamieskroon Hotel

The Kamieskroon Hotel is your Gateway to Namaqualand. The hotel is best known for the annual Namaqualand Photographic Workshops, and offers travellers and workshop participants comfortable accommodation and fine meals in the starkly beautiful  mountains and klipkoppe of the Northern Cape. The Namaqua National Park, famous for its remarkable displays of wildflowers, is within easy driving distance from the hotel. The coastal section of the Namaqua National Park and Richtersveld National Park are also great destinations that can be reached easily.

The Hotel is noted for its tasty, nutritious meals. Full English breakfast and three course dinners are served in the dining room and light meals are served on the hotel stoep or the nearby hotel shop. The hotel has 24 comfortable en-suite rooms, satellite TV in the lounge and a log fire in the winter. There is also a swimming pool for the hotel guests for the warmer summer months.

There is a bottle store, public telephone and internet service for guests.The hotel office has post cards, books and souvenirs for sale, and provides friendly guidance about the area especially during the flowerseason - August and September.

The Kamieskroon Hotel and its beautiful, natural surroundings have played host to the Namaqualand Photographic workshops since 1984, founded by Freeman Patterson and Colla Swart. These workshops are well known around the world and regularly draw participants from Europe, North America, New Zealand, Israel, Namibia and other countries as well as South Africa. The workshops are now presented by Frank Krummacher, founding member of the College of Digital Photography and freelance photographer Hansie Oosthuizen.
